JEFFREY ALLEN STEIGER (WRITER/DIRECTOR) is Artistic Director of The New Theater of Medicine, an Adjunct Instructor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at the George Washington School of Medicine and Health Sciences, and Creative Director of AWED Theater at Florida International University. Mr. Steiger has written and directed a diverse range of sketches and plays and has presented on his educational approaches to over 100 academic institutions including Harvard, Stanford and the University of Nagoya, Japan. Collaborations include the The Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Universidad de la República/Uruguay, a study with neuroscientist Dr. Sari Van Anders to determine potential changes in testosterone and cortisol levels in actors performing roles related to gender and power (PNAS, 2015) and exploratory work with Robert Mankoff, editor of the New Yorker Cartoons, on a brief project that used improvisation to examine Mankoff's ideas regarding status and the psycho-biological roots of humor. His most recent project involved the creation of original work for The New Work Symphony and a plenary production about the history of engineering education for ASEE.

CHARLES SAMENOW, MD, MPH (PROGRAM DIRECTOR/DRAMATURG) is Managing Director of The New Theater of Medicine and the Director for Medical Student Education in Psychiatry at the George Washington University School of Medicine. He has presented both nationally and internationally on physician and attorney health issues and has published peer reviewed articles on disruptive physician behaviors and sexual boundary violations. He has won both the Distinguished Teacher’s Award and the Golden Apple Award for excellence in medical student education at GW. He was also awarded the American Medical Association (AMA) Foundation Leadership Award and Caron Educational Excellence Award for his work in substance abuse and addictions. Dr. Samenow is a member of the Washington D.C. Physician Health Program. He is a former faculty and graduate of Interlochen Arts Camp and was an art administrative intern at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C.

PETER SPARLING (CHOREOGRAPHER) is the Rudolf Arnheim Distinguished University Professor Emeritus of Dance and Arthur F. Thurnau Professor Emeritus of Dance at University of Michigan. A graduate of Interlochen Arts Academy and The Juilliard School, Sparling was a member of the José Limón Dance Company and principal dancer with Martha Graham Dance Company. He has performed and staged Graham’s works all over the world and on PBS's Dance in America. He has had extensive experience as artistic director, (Peter Sparling Dance Company/Dance Gallery Foundation), choreographer, performer, teacher (UM Distinguished Faculty Award, Governor's Michigan Artist Award),lecturer, video artist, writer (Ballet Review), collaborator, administrator (former chair, UM Dance Department) and dance/arts consultant. A videographer and teacher of screendance at UM, his videodance Babel was videographer and teacher of screendance at UM, his videodance Babel was selected for the 2007 New York Dance on Camera Festival, the 2008 American Dance Festival Dance Film & Video Festival and has toured the world. His made-for-TV work, Climbing Sainte-Victoire, was broadcast on Michigan Television in April 2009. His video montage, Beautiful Captives: Martha Graham and the Cinematic Id, opened each performance of the Martha Graham Dance Company's Inner Landscape program during its 2012-13 season. His video installations, Photoformance, Clonal Renderings and UNTRANSLATABLE!, appeared in galleries on UM campus. His screen dance, The Snowy Owl, was featured at the Short Film Corner of the 2015 Cannes Film Festival.

LOREN BASS​ (Lonny) has been a professional actor for over 40 years from New York to Los Angeles and numerous stops in between. Shakespearean characters include Macbeth, Richard III, Iago, Brutus, Petruchio, Lysander, Mercutio, Malvolio, Marc Anthony, and Jacques. Films: ​Gifted Hands, Kill the Irishman, Street Boss, AKA Jimmy Picard, Ocean of Pearls, War Flowers, Batman vs. Superman, and It Follows. 

JENNY DONNOVAN (Andy, Linda, Shelly, Jake) has enjoyed working with The New Theater of Medicine on The Autopsy of Dr. Melinda J. Smith. DC area credits include: The Frederick Douglass Project (Solas Nua), Helen Hayes Award for Outstanding Ensemble in a Play; Twelfth Night (Shakespeare Theatre Company, u/s); The Effect (Studio Theatre, u/s); Coolatully (Solas Nua); It’s A Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play (Washington Stage Guild); The Diary of Anne Frank (Compass Rose Theatre); Blue Straggler (Source Festival); Doubt (1st Stage Theatre); Lobster Alice (Flying V Theatre); Mouse on the Move (Imagination Stage); The Birds (Quotidian Theatre); A Maze (Rorschach Theatre); Witness for the Prosecution (Olney Theatre Center); A Midsummer Night’s Dream (National Players); The Graduate (Keegan Theatre).
